FestiveFun IndoWestern ColorBurst!ย

Hi and GoodMorning my lovely readers! Hope you had enough and more fun this past weekend to take on Monday headstrong! ๐Ÿ˜› As a final part to my festive fun theme here’s my last IndoWestern fusion look. I have paired my palazzo pants which has shown its “flair” on this blog long ago with a contrast kurta and a colorful dupatta! Let’s go straight into the look!

I love this pink and blue combination and I often wear this kurta to work with blue bottoms. So pairing it with these blue palazzos were a no-brainer!

I completed the look with a topknot and a gorgeous pair of heels in the same colour scheme!

Sorry about the squinting in every photo! We shot this look in the afternoon and the sun was in my eye at every angle!

Another way of wearing this look and making it look a little festive is wearing a tank top and wearing the dupatta around it knotted at the waist like a jacket! Take a looook!

My beautiful neckpiece is seen at last in this look! Yayyy ๐Ÿ˜

Such a look is so easy to recreate because who doesn’t have palazzos these days and they look gorgeous with kurtas. Also, if you are one of those girls who has lost interest in wearing jeans then these outfits are the way to go babe trust me! Advice from a person who’s been there and done that!

Outfit details : Kurta and Palazzo pants – Fabindia; Heels – Flipkart; Square long chain – Sundari Silks; Tank top (racer back) – Jockey; Dupatta – Mom’s very old and Unknown!

That’s all from me folks! Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post! Please tell me that you’ll try recreating this look for the festivities ahead! Have an amazing week! May all your to-do lists have nothing but satisfying strike throughs by the end of this week! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜ƒ Ciao!

Basic Makeup Hacks and how to Get Started – A Guestpost + Giveaway!ย

Hey Ladies!I am so glad to write this post for Shilpa, our friendship goes back long in time, about 5 years back when we used to be colleagues. I still remember her suggestions to me for wearing formal clothes to a client in Delhi, haha! I knew there was something in this girl even then ๐Ÿ˜‰ Shilpa has given me a great opportunity to write a post on makeup after seeing my collection! I want to thank her first for noticing my interest and giving me a stage to share my thoughts. Okay, now right into the post!

I never really thought too much about makeup until I decided to do my own makeup for my engagement and wedding. I was inspired by one of my close friends who did this and I was closely helping her. It was so much fun and you donโ€™t need to be worried thinking what some random person will do to your face on your wedding day! That thought used to scare me a lot, so I stepped into the makeup world myself to explore and decide the way I want to look myself!  (I make it sound like some big venture, LOL)

I am not going to be talking about bridal makeup of course; it is a wideeee topic and involves many products! However, as I learnt that, I discovered how to use few products to make yourself look bright โ€“ where people canโ€™t say whether you have or do not have make up, just that natural look, highlighting your best features! I thought it would be best to share those tips here ๐Ÿ˜Š
I will try to keep the number of products as minimum as possible, but please pardon me if I go overboard in a few places ๐Ÿ˜€ I am going to split it into face, eyes and lips as usual.

Face

  • For a natural look, I usually donโ€™t prefer to use any liquid foundation. For me it is just about touching up the face with a powder based foundation with light/ medium coverage. Try a Compaq powder if you want very light coverage.
  • The product I recommend here is the MAC studio fix foundation powder; you can build this foundation powder to give more coverage as well. I know this is going to be pretty expensive, but I would spend the money on a good foundation since it is the base for your make up. If however,  you want to go for a cheaper product I suggest the Lโ€™Oreal true match series โ€“ they are my all-time favorites. A great alternative to the MAC one!
  • Next, BLUSHES. I love blushes! I think using a neutral/ light pink blush gives you a natural look. It just adds so much sheen and color to your face. You can use a matte blush if you want a morning look and shift to mineralized blushes which come with a glow for a night look!
  • Again here I love MAC Petal Power blush! You can use a little for a light glow and build on to it for more glow for a night look! Honestly I havenโ€™t tried many matte blushes, because I feel a blush should make your cheeks glow rather than just sitting there matte if you know what I mean ๐Ÿ˜ Of course, everyone may not like it, so for matte finish I recommend the Revlon Matte blushes. If you want to go glowy (like me) then a cheaper alternative is the NYX baked blushes, I just loveee this product! It just makes your cheeks pop and make you look super cute, definitely recommend it! ๐Ÿ‘

From left to right: Milani baked blush, MAC studio fix foundation powder, MAC petal power blush

Those are the two basic things for the face. If you have lot of under eye circles, sorry I have to say that you need some sort of a neutralizer and a concealer (like me :/) But  I donโ€™t use it for a natural look, they are a part of my face and I wonโ€™t let it bother me too much for an everyday look!

Eyes

  • Eye Shadow : When it comes to eye make-up you need to shape your eyes and give them some depth so that they look nice and gorgeous. I recommend using a neutral palette for an everyday look. I love to always add a tinge of pink when it comes to my eyes! I donโ€™t go for dark colors because I have dark circles and without properly concealing them, a dark eye shadow will make the eyes look even darker. That is something to remember for those who have dark circles around your eyes.
  • I recommend using the Revlon/ Lโ€™oreal/ Lakme netural eye shadows. I also have a MAC palette which has one light color, one dark color and one light pink color.
  • So to sort of take you through it, use the dark color just on your crease to give some depth and shape to the eyes, the pink one on your lids and the light color under your eyebrows. That is the basic pattern, just apply these colors and blend them together for an everyday breezy natural eye shadow look! (Shilpa here hi guys! I really had to poke my nose here at this point and add, I realised adding white eyeshadow below your brow bone and ever so lightly to the inside corner of your eyes really make them look wider! My limited gyan I have now passed on to the world!)

From left to right: MAC eye shadow palette, Lakme 9 to 5 series eye shadow palette

  • Eye-liner and Kohl : I sometimes use just eye liner since I have dark circles; I try to avoid the kohl since it may smudge. *Tip* : to avoid smudging, top your kohl/ kajal with some black eye shadow, it will not smudge since the powder will prevent smudging!
  •  I love the Maybelline master precision eyeliner! In the Lakme series, I love the plain old liquid kajal, it is one of the best things I have used! For Kohl I recommend the Maybelline kajal and MAC Kohl
  • The best part of eye make-up is…wait for itโ€ฆMASCARA! Believe me, whatever eye make-up you do, it will not be complete if you donโ€™t finish it with mascara. If you want to go that extra step, applying mascara after curling your lashes will make a bigger difference than just applying mascara.
  • I recommend Lโ€™Orealโ€™s mascara or Maybelline mascaras. Benefitโ€™s mascara is really good too! I havenโ€™t tried any high end brands, but I have used Dior once and that one is great too!

From top to bottom: Benefit they are real mascara, Lake eye liner, Maybelline master precise eye liner, MAC black Kohl

Lips

  • Once again for an au natural everyday look, I prefer a nude+pink color. In the picture below to create this color, I mixed a peach and dark pink color. I have always had a hard time finding a right color for indian skin tone in the US, I found this mix of colors to give the right blend I wanted, these lip colors are from Lakme! I also like the colors from Revlon and MAC. The NYX shiny lipsticks they are a personal favorite too!
  • If you have some discoloration on your lips, use a lip liner before you put on your lip stick. A beige/ nude color would do the job perfectly; I use the NYX/ Revlon lip liners. This will form a great base to your lipstick and make it look seamless.
  • Another great lip tip โ€“ just like how you moisturize your face before make up, donโ€™t forget to moisturize your lips as well, put on a lip balm when you start your make up so that your lips are ready for make up by the time you get there ๐Ÿ‘

From left to right: Revlon lipstick, Lakme lipstick, NYX Lip liner

From bottom to top: NYX lip liner, Lakme lipstick, Revlon lipstick, All blended โ€“ notice this color is between a nudish peach and pink โ€“ I thought this perfectly suited my skin tone and the lip liner has given a strong base to the two lipsticks which make the lipstick look flawless.

Oh and one last thing, I didnโ€™t mention about brushes I used, mostly for this look I used the small brushes that came with the palette and also my hands of course. If you are interested, I suggest owning a couple of brushes for the face and one for the eyes (mostly for blending the eye shadows)!

Finally in the pictures below.. The natural everyday no make-up/ make-up kinda flawless look I created for a casual Saturday shopping with all the above mentioned products, but I used a concealer since this post is too special and I definitely wanted to make the make-up special, haha, anyway all the other products are just the ones I have listed above  (P.S. you can see that the blush on my cheeks becomes a bit glowy when the light hits my cheeks โ€“ the last pic was taken in the night in front of lights, please ignore my bag behind ๐Ÿ˜‹)

Overall, I hope this post was useful for you people out there and I hope it inspires you to try on make-up and feel dressed up and festive about yourself during special occasions or even daily to office!! I am not suggesting going overboard, but believe me a little of it will make you feel good ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Oh and I hope you guys had fun reading! Take care you all!๐Ÿ˜Š

A note from Shilpa : Deepika has explored makeup from scratch in a span of couple of years and I thought she ll be able to teach all girls (like me) who want to start their makeup journey but just don’t know where to start it! Recently I saw this picture on Deepika’s wall on Facebook and that’s when this guest post idea struck me and we got talking and the rest I would like to grandly claim is history!

Five tips for great skin! ~ A Guest Post!ย

I know I’m a day late but hey hey hey I’m here now! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž Today I bring to you a really cool guest post by the Fashion for royals team ! Now I have made it pretty vocal on my blog and my Instagram account that makeup wise I’m highly unwise but that’s not all together true when it comes to skin care. I have a detailed nightly routine (what!! I promise!) and I take whatever steps possible to keep my shiny oily skin from running into too much problem! Since skin care is a topic I absolutely love I was thrilled to hear from the Fashion for Royals team who wanted to do a guest post on my blog about their five tips to beautiful skin! Now Fashion for Royals is a fashion blog which has been trying to get the latest and greatest of anything and everything in vogue to its readers. Fashion for Royals is fun, creative and extremely informative and I love checking on their blog regularly! So without further yapping here is what this team thinks are the five most important skincare tips!

A Hi-5 to Better Skin!

We all want better skin, but the problem is that achieving it seems to be becoming increasingly complicated. The fact though, is that it really doesnโ€™t have to be so confusing. Bettering your skin comes down to five simple steps. We all know them, but sometimes we just need reminding.

1.Drink

Drinking enough water is the first rule to having healthy skin. Not only does water help to keep you hydrated, but itโ€™s great for your metabolism, too. Make sure that youโ€™re not substituting your water intake for caffeinated drinks, though, as the caffeine content is dehydrating and pretty much counteracts any goodness youโ€™re getting from the water. Herbal teas are fine, as they are caffeine-free.

 2. Eat
Eating clean is crucial when it comes to achieving clear, healthy skin. Processed foods containing high levels of refined sugar and salt can be just as bad for your skin as forgetting to moisturise. Get rid of those nasty processed items and restock your fridge with lots of fresh fruit, veg and meat. When it comes to condiments such as mayonnaise, itโ€™s always better to make your own so you know exactly whatโ€™s going into it. The same goes for baking.
3. Sleep
It sounds simple, but we lead such busy and stressful lives that sleep actually moves further and further down our list of priorities. Every adult needs 7-8 hours of proper, quality sleep every night. Set an alarm for half an hour before you need to be in bed, and start your bedtime routine then. Try to avoid screens for the last hour before you go to bed, and make sure you donโ€™t eat too close to your bedtime.
 4. Sweat

Sweating is not only good for your body since it usually comes with a workout, but sweating is actually really good for the skin as well. It opens the pores, drawing out and releasing all the dirt and grime in the skin, also releasing all those toxins. Just make sure you wash your face after a workout, though, as the residue will otherwise just sit on the surface of your skin and seep back in over time.

 5. Work

Working out your whole body is great for your skin, but you can also work out your face alone. We often end up neglecting the hundreds of muscles in our face, which can result in headaches, poor circulation of blood and even an increase in wrinkling. Working out the face increases the blood flow to the skin, making it appear more radiant and keeping the skin fresh and healthy. Relaxing all of those muscles will also keep you looking younger and relieving any tension you hold in the face.

Seasonal Transitions – Winter! Cold but festive and happy!ย

It’s Monday! Lalalala ๐Ÿ˜ I’m jumping with joy for Monday means posty-toasty day! Say yay for its Monday! โค๏ธ so I’m bringing the month long theme seasonal transitions to an end today with this exciting post about winter! Now winter as I’ve told you’ll several times before is pretty nonexistent in the tropical country I live in but hey it isn’t wrong to be fashionably prepared for a winter that might strike someday is it? Like what if you went on a penguin siting expedition and got stuck in the arctic circle one day? Ok..ok…what if your husband suddenly got a transfer to Alaska and you got to make lively there? Got you thinking dint I? Good now let’s move on and start of with our three looks for this winter babaayyy!

First up, Sandhya’s look

Now this cutie decided to look really chic and classy in her winter clothes as well and she transitioned from this warm pink light cardigan autumn look to her thick full arms body hugging tshirt with her wooly infinity scarf.

Since her skirt was the staple she did worked around the other elements like adding black stockings and edgy black and studded heels. I think she looks like an absolute stunner what do you say?๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

Also, thank you Sandhya for making this whole theme look so glamorous! It was wonderful and so easy and comfortable working with you. ๐Ÿ˜

Next, Anusha’s look

Now Anusha retained her violet pants and her grey boots and replaced her grey sweatshirt and denim jacket with this light yellow crop top sweater! So cute!

This sweater may have been short but it was so cozy and comfortable to be in. You could always wear a full tshirt to cover your midriff whenever you want to go cropped for your sweaters! The gray gumboots were perfect for this season as well and hence we decided to retain it for this look!!

Finally, Shilpa’s look

Before I start of with my look I’m sure many of you are probably going to hate it and so I want give away a few disclaimers ๐Ÿ˜‚ this look is so laid back and it’s probably for one of those days you just want to run some errands in your locality and then go back home and re-watch Friends for the millionth time. That said, let’s get started ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Well…what do you think ๐Ÿ˜ƒ! For winter I retained my black maxi skirt and replaced the tshirt and denim shirt with a warm sweater! I also went from femine heels to my white kicks to complete the outfit

So this was a sweater I bought from Oasap.com for a vacation and while I and everybody who would have ever worn this sweater would have paired it with a pair of tights I decided to change things slightly with this look! And that’s why I look like a fur ball – warm but pretty unshapely! Haha! But who cares about how chic they look when at home or when they are going nowhere significant right? So for those days you can try this look I hope!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚

That would be all from me folks! I hope you loved this whole theme! Your comments are what keep me motivated so please keep them coming! Did you like all the looks? Which one did you think was the easiest to achieve? Do tell me! I’m all ears ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿผ love you! โค๏ธ

Oh and P.S.: in case you were wondering, we thought it will just be wrong to have a photo shoot in broad daylight because it’s such a green summery place where I live and hence we waited for it to become twilight and then carried on with our shoot because we figured that was probably the only way we could get the winter effect!! Thank you Pranav for the awesome photography as always โค๏ธ

Seasonal Transitions – Autumn! Layered Mild yet Happy

Hi everyone! I’m back with the next post ๐Ÿ™‚ and this ones about autumn ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ๐ŸŒพ at last I’m on track with these seasons and bringing out an autumn post when it’s actually going to turn autumn in countries where four seasons exist. (If you’ve been reading this blog you’d have heard this rant a billion times – the place I live in, has just two seasons summer and rainy summer ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜)

So this time around we retained the concept of Sandhya wearing something short Anusha wearing pants and Shilpa (me) wearing maxi skirts! But for autumn and winter we changed the staple outfits! Let’s dive right into the look and you’ll understand what I mean ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

First up, Sandhya’s look

For autumn Sandhya decided to keep it light and floral below and warm and cozy above..! So she has worn this skater skirt (oh how cute ๐Ÿ˜˜) with this peach cardigan/light sweater! She had kept the rest of the look very simple with very basic makeup and completed it with her nude pumps! What do you think? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Next we have Anusha’s look

Anusha’s look was all about comfort this time around too! So she switched from her palazzo (which she wore for the first two seasons) to these comfortable jeggings/tights thingy … For the top she wore a turtle neck sleeveless sweater and this floral jacket over it! She completed the look with these amazing boots Sandhya lent her and that was it!! I thought the jacket looked adorable with the whole outfit and added so much funk to the whole look and so did the boots ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Finally! Shilpa’s look

My look was very autumny with my all black and a pop of blue kinda outfit! So I paired this beautiful maxi skirt with a plain black tshirt and over that I wore this laced denim crop top (courtesy my sister ๐Ÿ˜‹) and completed the look (which in my opinion was the best part of the look as well) with these super matching powder blue pumps.

The light layering in every look made us believe it will be just right for a light winter or autumn and that’s why we went ahead with these outfits! What do you think? How would you have played with staples like short skirts, maxis and pants for autumn? Do let me know ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜Š

P.S. Thank you Pranav for making us so much prettier than we are with your amazing photography ๐Ÿ˜

Seasonal Transitions – Spring! Fun Young and Colorful

Helloooo all you lovely people! I’m actually glad for a change the weekend is over! It was probably because I have such amazing things lined up for the week (hint hint) and I’m literally raring to go!!

Anyway, all that can wait! Monday’s here and that only means one thing!! a new post is here! :* So while last week I gave you three styling ideas for summer – one with a skirt, one with a dress and one with a pant, today I’ll show you how the same three staples can be used to create looks for spring by changing just a few pieces here and there!!

First up! Sandhya’s look

So for Sandhya we interpreted spring to be the fun weather which requires a bit of layering because it’s still quite chilly!! So she wore a plain peach tshirt over her printed cotton dress to keep her warm and since knotting everything up is the trend now we thought knotting up the tshirt would give it that fun element! Toinkkk๐Ÿ’ก!!

Wazzaa jumping shot!! ๐Ÿ˜ we kept the rest of Sandhya’s look simple with a pair of floral flip flops in place of the gladiators because..hey..floral means spring…duh ๐Ÿ˜‚haha!!

Sandhya’s wardrobe (summer and spring) : dress – Reliance Trendz, Peach t-shirt and gladiator flats – thrifted Germany, Floral flip flops – thrifted Chennai

Next, Anusha’s look

For Anusha we decided to retain the Palazzo pants because they were airy comfy and colorful and we replaced to spaghetti lace top with a fitted almost body con type of tshirt because it keeps you warm and cozy again! However the top being black I quite dint find it too springy and hence decided the orange and blue statement necklace would be a perfect addition to the look! So there you have a nice springy and colorful Anusha!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜˜

Wazzzaa fun and candid pulling shot to show of the wideness of the palazzo pants!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚! Haha! I liked Anusha’s spring look the best because it looked so put together and yet so chic and comfy!

Anusha’s wardrobe (summer and spring) : Palazzo pants – Akritti (by Pantaloons), fitted black top and lace top – Sandhya’s (I honestly don’t know where they are from :/ ), flats – Bata, watch – Timex, Statement necklace – the Fashionhub (Instagram account), blue aviators -myntra online

Finally, Shilpa’s look

My look was all about florals! I traded my plain orange top for this floral crop top to ensure it had the right amount of color (a.k.a a lot of color) to depict the weather!

Wazzzaa Audrey Hepburn-esque pose!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ so I completed my look by trading the flip flops for a pair of Zara golden flats (it looks like magic woven into a sandal! I swear!) and wearing my rounded cat eyed sunglasses in place of my aviators!

Shilpa’s wardrobe (spring and summer) : Coral skirt – 19โ€ขF (from pantaloons), orange shirt – Only India, turquoise beaded necklace – forever21, animal print aviators – Claire’s, red flip flops – lotto online, floral crop top – Westside, rounded animal print sunnies – Polkadot and you (Instagram account), golden flats – Zara, boho beaded wristband – blue eye collection!

That brings us to the end of the this week’s post! How would you transition from spring to summer with a staple piece? What defines spring and summer for you? What do you think about Sandhya Anusha and my looks? Do tell me! I’m all ears ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿผ

I have told you this a million times but every now and again I want to tell all my readers a big thank you again! (here take a kiss each ๐Ÿ˜˜) you guys are probably the most supportive and encouraging people and I need that now more than anyother time! Thank you more than most! Have an amazing week ahead! Xoxo!

Seasonsal Transitions – Summer! Bright Light and Beachy!

Hola dearies! Happy yappy Monday to you all!! Do I sound too excited on a Monday? That is ONLY because I have an awesome post in store for y’all! :*

A little back story before we dive right into the post. A week back I was thinking what my next post/theme/couple of posts was going to be and just when an idea was forming in my head my sister told me she and her friend would shoot with me as well! Two cuties who look like a million bucks in just about anything they wear on my blog? I’m on!

So the Concept of the next four posts isss……1 2 3 4! Confused? That’s One Theme, Two Staples,ย Threeย Girls andย Fourย Seasons!!ย ย Ta-daaaaah! So its basically seasonal transitions of the same staple outfit. (Sonam Naidu..You remember you asked me to do this long ago with my red skirt? Thanks babe โค You inspired me!) So I will be showing you guys how to wade through the four seasons in a staple maxi skirt, my sister in pants and Sandhya in a dress! *So excited I could dieee*

Summer!ย

So this post is all about Summer! Summer is all about the beach and bright and light colors and that’s what we went for indeed!! ๐Ÿ˜€

First up, Sandhya’s Look

IMG_2433

IMG_2434ย IMG_3188

Firstly, lets all step back for a moment and admire this cutie…now lets proceed to the look. Ha! So we decided to keep Sandhya’s beach look very simple with this thin cotton brightly colored almost spaghetti strapped dress. She chose to pair it with these open gladiators which look elaborate and simple, dressy and laid back at the same time! Simple airy dresses like these scream summer and we love that! Dresses are also easily transitionable and you’ll see why we need that next week ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Suspense and all!! :P)

Next, Anusha’s Look

IMG_3190 (null) (1) (null) (2)

Anusha look like a pretty picture in these comfy as hell palazzo pants and this lacy spaghetti top. Palazzo are one more piece of outfit which define sweaty summers and she sure was uber-cozy in them! She finished her look with these open flats and a pair of blue aviators!

And finally,ย Shilpa’s Lookย (yes mine!)

IMG_2491 IMG_2493

IMG_2490

I bought two maxis recently (like at last!!) and the minute I saw this coral one I knew this is exactly how I wanted to style it! This orange shirt and coral skirt combination almost give it a maxi dress like feel and knotting up the shirt made me feel breazy in my tummy and I loved it! (Lol!) I finished this look with these pretty F21 turquoise beads and I was pretty pleased with myself for thinking up of that color combination! (not at all pompous! Nope!) I also wore these cool blueeye collection beaded bracelet (birthday gift from *wink wink*) and my lazy flip flops to complete the look.

As I’m finishing this post I realise I’m running so late to work! So this is where I sign off peeps! Next week we three will show you how the same three staple outfits can be worn for spring! (Also, I just realised, I should have totally gone spring first and then come to summer isnt it?) Excited? Oh I sure am! Hope you enjoyed this post! I’m yapping too much today! Have an amazing week ahead! Love you! Stay Happy!! โค โค !!

Guess who gave their first interview!?!

I was walking down the street, walk-walk-walking down the street when I listened to this beat, Liss-Liss-listened to this beat!

I was asked to take the hot seat take the take the hot seat coz I gave a tete-a-tete ya ya I gave a tete-a-tete!!!  ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ

So hi everyone!! My post is coming one day late, but if you have been following me on  Instagram or Facebook you’ll know I gave my first interview and all!! Oh gosh! ๐Ÿ’ž

Recently a new yet-to-launch app called Ethnic Threads contacted me because they wanted bloggers to try the beta version of their app prior to launching it and I agreed of course!! This is an app through which Indians all over the world get to meet each other exchange ideas and tips about how to nail the various ethnic traditional Indian looks and buy sell and rent ethnic garb from and to each other through the app!

I was enjoying this app when one day the creative head of the app mailed me asking if I could do an interview because she liked me style and I acted all lady like and agreed to do the interview…nah…just kidding…I jumped up and down like a monkey and said yaaaa baby letzzz do this! (First interview and all guys! Cut me some slack will ya?)

Here’s an excerpt of the interview:

ET: Tell us 3 interesting things about you.

SR: 1) There is a picture of me when I was five or six and I have draped one of my mum’s dupatta as a gown and worn her heals (probably a gazillion sizes bigger than mine) and posed proudly for the picture! What more proof did anyone else need that fashion is the field I was meant to be in? Haha!

2) This weekend has been a rather eventful one for me! Sunday I ran my maiden half marathon and Monday I get my first interview (a.k.a this one!) published! I’m loving it!

3) As crazy as it sounds I do a lot of online “window” shopping! And sometimes I apply only one filter – colour! (Dear online site, please show me any and every thing you sell -men’s wear or women’s wear in yellow! yes! Yellow!)

To read the rest of the interview head over to this URL and do read up!!!

LookBook Series : Tan Bag Look #2 High-Teas and Haughtyย

Welcome back guys! It’s that time of the week again and while it’s like any other awful Monday for people like me, I know it must be a god-awful Monday for my readers from the West after their super long weekend and all! And for that, I’m truly happy! Huhuhu ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

So for today’s post, while I have tried to keep my tan bag the centre of attraction, I can’t deny the fact that there is one other piece which kinda grabs the spotlight and that my friends is this gorgeous dress!

shiny shiny beacuse Im sweaty sweaty!

This is a dress I bought from Eshakti ages ago. Now picture this! This beauty has been sleeping in the wardrobe of a fashion blogger for close to 7 months now – unworn, untouched – could there be a worse plight for a dress? Nah.

I thought the embroidery of the dress would beautifully bring out the lace detailing on the bag but what it ended up doing in afraid is stealing the spotlight for itself. Cheeky cheeky CHEEKYYY!

This dress in my opinion screams sophistication and hence that title for this post ๐Ÿ‘ป

Fit and flare dresses are really the rage now. And the best part about them is that they do justice to the not so petite ones (like ahem ahem me) by cinching at the waist and the really petite ones by flailing below the waist beautifully! Hope this blog motivated you to think about buying that fit and flare that has been lawling about in your online shopping cart for way too long! ๐Ÿ˜†

I learned about Eshakti through blog posts of other American bloggers and I decided to visit that site strictly for “window shopping” ๐Ÿ˜‚ but their amazing collection and their beautiful idea of customising every aspect of the dress just got to me. I was lucky because I had someone coming down to India from the States at this same time and so I asked them to bring it ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ so it’s basically an Indian brand even having a branch office of sorts in chennai (my city) shipping their products from Gurgaon (another city in my country) to the U.S. (Not my country) from where I got it to chennai through a friend. WHY YOU NO OPEN IN INDIA Eshakti?? ๐Ÿ˜”

That would be all from me folks! Do you have your perfect fit and flare dress and the perfect tan bag to go with it? Tell me what you think! Have a great week ahead! Stay happy stay sassy!  โœจโค๏ธโœจ

P.S while I thank everyone who readily agree to click pictures of me right after I awkwardly request them to, it’s my sister who has been constantly clicking my looks when I’ve got no one else to do it and strangely I’ve never gotten around to thanking her!! Thank you so much Anukutty (embarrassed? ๐Ÿ˜ˆ) half my posts wouldn’t have gone up if it weren’t for you!  ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ

LookBook Series : Tan Bag Look #1 Casual Grunge

Hi y’all! It’s Monday all over again *fake yayyys and faker hi-5s to you* and before you get into the daily grind here’s a post to cheer you up!

TAN! There is something about this color…I share a connect of sorts with it! Whenever I go shopping I am drawn magically to anything Tan/brown and that’s why, when I was vigorously stalking Instagram one day night midnight and came across this Tan Bag, I knew I wanted it. Buy it, I did, and hence what better way to flaunt it than starting right here!

I kept this look really light and casual!! Pinterest is crazy about the denim and tan-bag look and I loved that idea!! So in comes the over-used over-sized denim shirt! ๐Ÿ˜‹

I was looking at the security who realised we were clicking pictures and was yelling at us for it! ๐Ÿ˜€

I decided to pair my light blue denim shirt with dark blue denim jeans (what a creative genius! ๐Ÿ˜‚) and decided to wear gold and brown accessories like my Peter pan collar necklace under my regular collar, my gold watch, and these brown gold sandals I flicked just for that day from the sister!
๐Ÿ‘œComing to bag!!๐Ÿ‘œ Ba-Dum-Tssss ๐ŸŽผ! I loved loved simply loved the lace detailing in the bag on the sides. It’s very structured but made of very soft leather and hence I was able to stuff all the random things I carry in my handbag to work (how do men walk into work carrying absolutely nothing? How!??) It has an adjustable and removable sling and golden buckles! A close up if you wish!
