This weekend I’m teaching Idioms to the kids which the organization I volunteer at are associated with and that explains the reason for the idiomy title 🙄
(#funfacts : straight from the shoulder actually means being honest or frank 😝)
So, long long ago so long ago, a blogger friend had a post about a beautiful studded bag she had and I realized I had a similar backpack full of beautiful embroidery and I thought why not a post on that.!
Here it comes!!! 🎼🎶🎼
It is a black backpack with the flaps on the top and sides alone in white with a splash of colorful random but beautiful embroidery!
This bag is such a show stealer that I use it judiciously. When I’m dressed very well I give this bag the skip because it’s more likely that it will steal my thunder anyway 😜
Leaving you with some more images of the bag and the link to the site where I purchased it from 🙂
You can find this same bag here!
Have a nice weekend folks!
Sometimes you see a quote and you have that “whaaat” 😱 moment and you think the universe perhaps schemed into making you read that quote because it fits you like a pencil skirt? ( because glove was too mainstream for a fashion blogger 😜)
Well this quote did just that to me. My life at the moment is in such a chaos its not even funny. But this quote gives me a ray of hope.
the my world functions better when things are chaotic.
– Maybe the chaos is the moat full of crocodile which I’ve to wade through to reach my castle.
– Maybe this chaos is to enable me to make wise-tough choices and stick by it.
Borrowing an idea from a friend’s blog I’m going to jot down a word cloud of my feelings and what I hope for. Sorry for the meaninglessness.
Chaotic – frustrating – I don’t care – irritating – hope – clear picture – too many things – what do I want – what do others want – peace – solace – I’m my best friend – do I need people – self sufficient – self reliant – confused – what the hell – god help me – prayers – things will fall in place – hope – love – time – hurdles – frustrating – what do I do – sensitive – emotional – want vs need – brain vs heart – fragile – hurt – hope – hope – hope….
Hey you guyssss!
Wazzzaaa!?! So I actually tried a trend from my imaginary checklist of trends-to-try and boy did I love it say hey to animal prints! ✋
I just had to pose for a picture with my coolers on because they have animal print temples too ( yes the parallel beams on the shades which perch above your ears are apparently called temples. #thankyougoogle 😂)
So let me show you a complete version of the OOTD
This leopard print blouse has been lying in my closet untouched for quite a while now because I’ve been apprehensive about wearing it – courtesy – my mom. Every time I take this blouse out she does a perfect eye roll and goes like “why would anyone in their right minds walk around looking like an animal.” (I guess she completes the paragraph in her brain like “how creepy would it be if a leopard dresses up like a human” …but yeah she doesn’t say it…and as long as she doesn’t, I’m happy 😝)
So I paired this printed top with my favorite pair of jeans I bought more than a year ago from Levis. Hope you trust me when I say this; there has not been a single pair of jeans which has fit me this well since my childhood.. Hahha. One thing I’ve learnt about jeans through the years is that we can equate it to buying sports shoes. Though the brand, the cut etcetera may be exactly the same, the fit sometimes differs, so the key is just definitely trying them on and checking as against buying them online or without actually trying them. Been there done that burnt my fingers and felt bad guys. So please don’t repeat that mistake!
And now introducing the best part of the outfit…ba-dum-tssss!!! My heels!!! I got these glitter heels recently and I absolutely love them to bits. I can strut in them for life. Yayyy…so comfortable yet sexy 😆
Lovely don’t you think? Hope you guys enjoyed the post and the animal print trend I tried. Tell me what you guys thought. 🙂
As much as I would love to think that my hiatus in the blogging world was a calm before the storm, its not true. I’ve just had nothing too exciting going on in my life, inspiring enough to blog about. I have also slipped into a phase where I’m merely recycling my old (most of them very boring too 😝) clothes, so an OOTD was out of question as well.
Yesterday however was different. I woke up very early so had plenty of time at hand and hence decided to try something different to work. And so, I tried the very famous “sock bun” 😍
I probably did not do a very neat job of it, (and I guess that’s mainly because I dont use hairsprays) but was nonetheless extremely proud of it (haha that’s me!!)
I used a ring bun instead of a sock because its easier and its a cheat trick to add volume to my hair! 😁. You can find the link to the video I followed to get this hairstyle here
So people at work started calling me “the airhostess” because I completed my look with a…*wait for it*..scarf!!! The look was so airhostessey that I couldn’t but just laugh at these jests because I did look like one after all!! 😂 So dont you guys want to see how I looked from the front?
I got this scarf as a gift and I really love how versatile it is and how it instantly and completely adds so much vibrance to an otherwise dull look!
Do tell me what you guys thought about the hairstyle and the scarf!?! Have you guys scarfed up to make a boring outfit look colorful? I’m all ears ☺
Ha.! Fell in love with this quote the minute I saw it.
We all have our apprehensions about doing that little something we have “been meaning to” but are being chicken about actually doing it. Starting trouble they say.!
• You think you have it in you to write well? You want to start a blog? Do it! I did!
• You think you have some free time and you want to do something for the society? You want to join an NGO? Do it! I did!
• You think you need a hobby to get out of work pressure? You think you might be quite artsy? Do it! I did!
Now how’s that for leading by example? 🙂
Notes to myself:
• No enough time : its just a farce!
• What would people say : honestly, why do you care?
• You think you are doing all that you have been wanting to do : the answer is always “no not yet”. Never be content. Never settle. Challenge yourself to do it and to do it better every single time.
Roll my hair I meant. Bwahaha..!
So the past week was very mane-oriented for me and I tried these two hairstyles to work. 🙂
A french knot looks deceptively easy. The toughest part of it is not the hairstyle itself but how tightly you secure it with bun pins.! Its a smart updo which is a good idea for work and occasions alike.
It simply is a case of bunching your hair up like you are about to tie it up into a ponytail and start rolling it down neatly and when you reach the nape of your neck, stop. The balance hair should be doubled up and tucked neatly into the roll you just created. Secure tightly with le bun pins 😛
The second hairstyle is a fishtail. Its so easy but so time consuming, its not even funny. I found it hard to keep my hand raised for so long so I asked my sister to do this hairstyle on me and so she did and she did well too didn’t she? 😀
A normal fishtail starts at the nape of the neck which I didn’t quite like because I like my hair to be tight right from the top so we tried this slight variation of the fishtail – a French braid style fishtail. Find the link to this tutorial here!
Hope you liked the two hairstyles. Do try them and tell me how it went 😀
I have somehow missed both the life through the lens challenges though I have been thinking I read every post of Mommyx4boys (oh…fyi…when I visited her page now for a link back I see a third pending challenge. But that can wait :P)
So the two topics I missed were Miracle and Love. Let’s go one by one. 🙂
This one’s a photo. And the story behind it is the Miracle.
That’s me holding my Chartered Accountant Membership Certificate on passing the course. You must be wondering why this photo here, it’s because passing the course is a bloody miracle in itself 😀 The pass percentage was a frugal 7% when I gave my exams. 7 of every 100 clear. Miracle or what?!? 🙂
This is a pencil sketch I did for Love. A slightly different interpretation but yes!
Nothing is as genuine as the love dogs show and I think I’ve done a good job bringing out that emotion. I had a rough idea of the kind of picture I wanted to draw and Google threw up this amazing idea 😀 what do you think guys?
And thank you once again http://mommyx4boys.wordpress.com for these kickass challenges!
