Festive Beginnings – Ft. Baka/rebecca – Part 1

October for all Indians means only one thing! The most vibrant Quarter of the year is here! Every year I remember as a kid, the whole atmosphere at home and at school used to undergo a shift when October sets in and I realize the same excitement has transcended well into adulthood as well!

Sustainable Silhouettes Ft. Arodhi

Over the course of this year I have consciously cut down accumulating clothes. Now many will think this isn’t a smart move for a “fashion blogger” because new clothes means new posts but for me the need to shift into sustainability was far greater than my love for blogging, OOTDs and making a statement. Besides, its surprising how happy you get, and the number of different outfits you think of, when you remove that constant need to update your wardrobe.

Summer Style – Part III/IV – Nature Hues

Hi you guys! It feels great to be sticking to a routine and coming back to the blog every Monday 😀 wonder how long that’s gonna last for… Anyway let’s fuggedaboudit for a moment now and talk about the next summer styling idea and it is *drumroll* the traditional Salwar/Chudidhar and Kameez!

The salwar kameez is a traditional Indian three piece suit which has a kameez which is a top that you can equate to a knee length dress and a salwar/patiala pant/Chudidhar which is the pant and a dupatta which is shawl we cover our torso with!

The Patiala or simply a salwar pant has a lot of gathering and looks great with a short top or a tshirt even! The Chudidhar bottom is comes more like a tightish pant (that’s what I’m wearing in this look!)

This outfit was infact bought on my birthday! A gift from me to me 😛 last year! It wasn’t a set when I bought it (just putting that in so you would be like oooh how do you mix n match so well!! Lol!)

This salwar has Churi sleeves which means the sleeves like the pant has gatherings at the end too! Its pure cotton and feels great to wear!

Salwars in general are a great option to wear in summer and whenever it’s possible to ditch the dupatta, do it because honestly, minimalism in any which way possible in a 40•C weather is extremely essential!

I’m just realizing all the three summer looks I have put together this time are yellow and green hues..er so much for variety!

i will stand up on the bench and pose. Because I can!

Outfit Details: The whole set – top, pant and dupatta – Fab India, Slippers – Koblerr, Earrings – Kushals

When we did the whole photoshoot for the four outfits I must say this outfit was my least favourite because I was feeling all conscious in it…I know it’s just a salwar! What’s to feel conscious right? So anyway, I was dreading seeing the pictures of this one but I must say this Sneha Chandrashekar knows what she’s doing! Follow her on Instagram where she goes by the handle @purplecurlss! ❤️

That ladies (and the very few gentlemen who read my blog!) brings us to the end of Part 3 of the 4 part summer series! So tell me are you enjoying the looks? Did you try to create a summer look yourself? Comment below cause I would love to know. Have a fabulous week! Bye!

Ushering Mustard into my wardrobe

I had for the first time in my life (hold on to your gasps) been to Forever 21 last November (ok gasp now 😒) I was busy behaving like a kid at a candy store when my sister pointed at this particular dress. “That dress? Who in their right mind would choose a dress in that color?” I mocked! “Try it anyway” she said. Try I did, and here I’m dedicating a whole post to that dress, so you figured how my emotions for the dress went after that trial don’t you? 😛🙆🏻

As fashion bloggerly as I am, some colors like mustard/honey have never been in my radar simply because I decided they aren’t cool colors. But I stand corrected and how! Take a look

A beautiful fit and flair short dress in the color mustard was bought!
Congratulations boyfriend! Never knew you had such brilliant photography skills! I have hit jackpot after all I guess 😛

Chose to wear some F21 bling on my ear and went back to my trusted clutch and glitter pumps to complete the look 🤗

This valentine day if you are looking for the perfect dress, please consider Mustard will ya? 😘

How to pull of a graphic tee w/o looking like a 9 year old! Part-I

Hi everyone! Since I gave away the whole theme of the post right at the title let’s jump into the main content straightaway!

So I thought there are four ways to get away with wearing a graphic or a cartoon tshirt without having to look like :

a) You are sporting a right out of bed look or

b) a 9-year old basically!

I thought I’ll do this post as two parts with two ideas each and here they are!

For the two ideas of this post I chose a colorful graphic tshirt full of butterflies!

1. Give the look some structure

Adding an extra layer like a shirt or a jacket or a blazer is the easiest way to look put together! Since I’ve done the shirt over tshirt look several times (and since I simply wanted to wear the red blazer) I decided to go for a blazer 😬👍🏽 Take a looky!

2. Give the look some much needed BLING! ✨✨

For the second look I kept the rest of the look the same and replaced the blazer for a statement necklace ! A heavy necklace or a pair of earrings really take such a pre-teen-like tshirt into a suave and sophisticated outfit! I know you might at first think it is crazy to wear bling with cartoon and graphic tees but once you find the right piece of jewelry you’ll love it! Take a peeky!

Outfit Details : Red Blazer – ONLY, Butterfly Tshirt – Gift, Jeans – 109•F, Statement necklace – Some Instagram account (forgot which one!), Heels – Zara, Watch – Fossil, Sunglasses – Rayban

I will be back next week with two more ideas to look neat in a cartoon tshirt but until then make sure you try the two ideas in this post! ❤️ Happy Monday!

One Pencil Skirt Two Ways

What’s a Monday without a post from me right? Wrong! Don’t tell me you were wondering why I dint post a post on Monday…I wouldn’t buy it even for a second but yes lament about it I will! Due to some technical glitches faced by this technically severely challenged fashion blogger (I had to convert CR2 files to JPG…nope I dint know how to do that 😬 judge me!) I was unable to post yesterday but fret not here I am with a new post and this one today is about a pencil skirt which I came to own a couple of months ago. Now a pencil skirt can be a tricky piece of clothing especially for the ummmm…how do I put this subtly…the pear-shaped people like me! I have always shied away from them but then I realized I could make it work if I paired it with the right blouse. So here’s how I used my pencil skirt to create a morning and an evening look (both however shot in the afternoon…sorry you should have seen that PJ coming 😝💁🏻)

Morning Look

For the formal look I kinda toned down my bright coral-peach skirt with a teal shirt which hit the right length such that it covered the problem areas well enough 👍

I kept the look pretty simple with a gold tassel long chain I have been obsessed with and a coral flower earring. I opted for my Zara flats which are both comfortable for an all day use and a bit dressy too with all the gold detailing.

A close up under some white light so that you can see the 1) winged eyeliner swag I’m pulling off 2) the actual color of my top and 3) the winged eyeliner swag I’m pulling off…oh yeah!

Evening Look

The evening look was without doubt so much more exciting to create! I’m the most comfortable person in bubble tops but I find they do absolutely nothing to accentuate our figure so when I realized I could play around with the blouse since I had a structured skirt my hands instantly reached out to this fun bubble top I love!

This attention pose has become something of a favorite though everyone around actively hates it 😂

For this look I decided to carry my golden glitter clutch and I brought out my much used and abused glitter pumps. I traded the quaint tassel chain for this chunky peach beads and completed the look with my used and reused cat eye glasses!

And again a closeup shot because forgedaboutme just look at that cute kids face painted 😍

That would be all from me folks 😍 Enjoy the rest of your week and hope you feel inspired enough to bring out and flaunt those pencil skirts which have been sleeping in your closet for a while now. Ciao!

Seasonal Transitions – Spring! Fun Young and Colorful

Helloooo all you lovely people! I’m actually glad for a change the weekend is over! It was probably because I have such amazing things lined up for the week (hint hint) and I’m literally raring to go!!

Anyway, all that can wait! Monday’s here and that only means one thing!! a new post is here! :* So while last week I gave you three styling ideas for summer – one with a skirt, one with a dress and one with a pant, today I’ll show you how the same three staples can be used to create looks for spring by changing just a few pieces here and there!!

First up! Sandhya’s look

So for Sandhya we interpreted spring to be the fun weather which requires a bit of layering because it’s still quite chilly!! So she wore a plain peach tshirt over her printed cotton dress to keep her warm and since knotting everything up is the trend now we thought knotting up the tshirt would give it that fun element! Toinkkk💡!!

Wazzaa jumping shot!! 😍 we kept the rest of Sandhya’s look simple with a pair of floral flip flops in place of the gladiators because..hey..floral means spring…duh 😂haha!!

Sandhya’s wardrobe (summer and spring) : dress – Reliance Trendz, Peach t-shirt and gladiator flats – thrifted Germany, Floral flip flops – thrifted Chennai

Next, Anusha’s look

For Anusha we decided to retain the Palazzo pants because they were airy comfy and colorful and we replaced to spaghetti lace top with a fitted almost body con type of tshirt because it keeps you warm and cozy again! However the top being black I quite dint find it too springy and hence decided the orange and blue statement necklace would be a perfect addition to the look! So there you have a nice springy and colorful Anusha!! 😍😘

Wazzzaa fun and candid pulling shot to show of the wideness of the palazzo pants!! 😂😍😂! Haha! I liked Anusha’s spring look the best because it looked so put together and yet so chic and comfy!

Anusha’s wardrobe (summer and spring) : Palazzo pants – Akritti (by Pantaloons), fitted black top and lace top – Sandhya’s (I honestly don’t know where they are from :/ ), flats – Bata, watch – Timex, Statement necklace – the Fashionhub (Instagram account), blue aviators -myntra online

Finally, Shilpa’s look

My look was all about florals! I traded my plain orange top for this floral crop top to ensure it had the right amount of color (a.k.a a lot of color) to depict the weather!

Wazzzaa Audrey Hepburn-esque pose!! 😝😝 so I completed my look by trading the flip flops for a pair of Zara golden flats (it looks like magic woven into a sandal! I swear!) and wearing my rounded cat eyed sunglasses in place of my aviators!

Shilpa’s wardrobe (spring and summer) : Coral skirt – 19•F (from pantaloons), orange shirt – Only India, turquoise beaded necklace – forever21, animal print aviators – Claire’s, red flip flops – lotto online, floral crop top – Westside, rounded animal print sunnies – Polkadot and you (Instagram account), golden flats – Zara, boho beaded wristband – blue eye collection!

That brings us to the end of the this week’s post! How would you transition from spring to summer with a staple piece? What defines spring and summer for you? What do you think about Sandhya Anusha and my looks? Do tell me! I’m all ears 👂🏼👂🏼

I have told you this a million times but every now and again I want to tell all my readers a big thank you again! (here take a kiss each 😘) you guys are probably the most supportive and encouraging people and I need that now more than anyother time! Thank you more than most! Have an amazing week ahead! Xoxo!

Seasonsal Transitions – Summer! Bright Light and Beachy!

Hola dearies! Happy yappy Monday to you all!! Do I sound too excited on a Monday? That is ONLY because I have an awesome post in store for y’all! :*

A little back story before we dive right into the post. A week back I was thinking what my next post/theme/couple of posts was going to be and just when an idea was forming in my head my sister told me she and her friend would shoot with me as well! Two cuties who look like a million bucks in just about anything they wear on my blog? I’m on!

So the Concept of the next four posts isss……1 2 3 4! Confused? That’s One Theme, Two Staples, Three Girls and Four Seasons!!  Ta-daaaaah! So its basically seasonal transitions of the same staple outfit. (Sonam Naidu..You remember you asked me to do this long ago with my red skirt? Thanks babe ❤ You inspired me!) So I will be showing you guys how to wade through the four seasons in a staple maxi skirt, my sister in pants and Sandhya in a dress! *So excited I could dieee*

Summer!

So this post is all about Summer! Summer is all about the beach and bright and light colors and that’s what we went for indeed!! 😀

First up, Sandhya’s Look

IMG_2433

IMG_2434 IMG_3188

Firstly, lets all step back for a moment and admire this cutie…now lets proceed to the look. Ha! So we decided to keep Sandhya’s beach look very simple with this thin cotton brightly colored almost spaghetti strapped dress. She chose to pair it with these open gladiators which look elaborate and simple, dressy and laid back at the same time! Simple airy dresses like these scream summer and we love that! Dresses are also easily transitionable and you’ll see why we need that next week 😉 (Suspense and all!! :P)

Next, Anusha’s Look

IMG_3190 (null) (1) (null) (2)

Anusha look like a pretty picture in these comfy as hell palazzo pants and this lacy spaghetti top. Palazzo are one more piece of outfit which define sweaty summers and she sure was uber-cozy in them! She finished her look with these open flats and a pair of blue aviators!

And finally, Shilpa’s Look (yes mine!)

IMG_2491 IMG_2493

IMG_2490

I bought two maxis recently (like at last!!) and the minute I saw this coral one I knew this is exactly how I wanted to style it! This orange shirt and coral skirt combination almost give it a maxi dress like feel and knotting up the shirt made me feel breazy in my tummy and I loved it! (Lol!) I finished this look with these pretty F21 turquoise beads and I was pretty pleased with myself for thinking up of that color combination! (not at all pompous! Nope!) I also wore these cool blueeye collection beaded bracelet (birthday gift from *wink wink*) and my lazy flip flops to complete the look.

As I’m finishing this post I realise I’m running so late to work! So this is where I sign off peeps! Next week we three will show you how the same three staple outfits can be worn for spring! (Also, I just realised, I should have totally gone spring first and then come to summer isnt it?) Excited? Oh I sure am! Hope you enjoyed this post! I’m yapping too much today! Have an amazing week ahead! Love you! Stay Happy!! ❤ ❤ !!
