I apologize profusely to Z of my favorite DeepBluesAndSeaFoamGreens for this delay in accepting this award. This award is more relatable to me than the other awards I have received on this Blogs because it is nothing about my blog but about the relationship I am having with this particularly lovely blogger. She is hilarious, charming, funny, cute and sensitive at the same time and I genuinely feel like she is my younger sister! I am happy I started blogging precisely because I get to meet people like her! 🙂 

Many thanks to the lovely ElloKelsey for my second and more recent nomination for this award. I absolutely love her blog and the fact that her dressing is her take on the description of famous fictional characters. I am too kicked about her Hunger Games series now 😀

I..er…how do I say this…dont listen much to English songs. XD I m currently listening to some AR Rahman numbers from two films – Lekar Hum Diwana Dil and Highway. (Both Hindi!)

9) Lollipops?! You likey?

I like lollipops in the sense that if there is a lolli sitting fat in my fridge I would dig in immediately. But I wouldnt go and specifically buy one. (*thinking about the big swirling colorful lollipops at the moment :O )

10) Favourite TV show(s)?

Currently that would be suits, big bang, modern family. All time favorites, friends, full house 😛

1) Where do you get your fashion inspiration from? 

From the blogs I follow, from people at work, people on the roads, actresses, here, there, everywhere..!

2) Describe your personal style?

Simple, easy, light, bright!

3) What is the one style item you can not live without?

Hmmm…I would say my accessories (easy does that, because that one word encompasses a wide range – earrings, necklaces, bracelets, bangles..Ta-daaa!!)

4) What is your favourite makeup brand?

I feel make-up wise illiterate every now and then and heres an occasion, haha.. I dont use many make up products..so I m not sure.. however, I recently invested in a Colorbar red lipstick and a Revlon basic foundation, and Revlon it is!! 

5) Who is your celebrity style crush?

Halle Berry, Sonam Kapoor

6) What if your favourite fashion TV Show?

Fashion TV show? O.o whats that again? hahaha

7) What is your favourite food?

Anything with rice in it. Anything!!! *Biriyaanniii!*

8) If you could travel to any time period, where would it be? and why?

I would just sit right where I am now!! Because I genuinely believe the place I am in now is the best place to be !!

9) What is your dream vacation?

If you mean like a destination, it would be Seychelles and Maui (Hawaii)

An outfit of the day post after really long!

Wore pastel over pastel over pastel to work today (that would be my top, trouser and shoes 😛 ) I simply love this simple boat neck top with delicate bead work all around its collar and sleeves. Because being sober and classy is just not in my blood I HAD to add some color to the outfit so I added this pretty bead necklace whose color was an darker shade of the lavendar of the top.

Yes, yes, when I smile…I SMILEEE. Hahaha!

While I personally thought my beads pretty much rocked the scene, some people *cough cough sister cough* felt the beads spoilt the whole look. Hellooo look how dull it looks without the necklace

One Chambray, Three Ways!

I have been waiting for really long to get nice pictures of my ombre top to name this post “Of Ombres and Chambrays” and sound all sexy, but I just wasn’t getting the right look with my ombre blouse :P. So here I present to you “One chambray, three ways!!” I saw this chambray top at one of our Indian stores a while ago and bought it because it looked good (polka dots on chambray? Yes please!!) and the price was very reasonable. But once I started wearing it, I realized chambray redefined comfort especially in a hot city like mine! With no further ado, let’s go on with the looks!
Look 1: Chambray over crop pants

I simply loved this look for its sheer comfort because these pants I got from M&S are ones which you can sleep, live or party in forever! XD
Accessories: light blue large circular studs (love them), my tan crossbody bag, and nude platforms

Look 2 : Chambray as a jacket

This look was created just moments before rushing to work because the T-shirt was a bit too colorful and casual even for the “Casual Friday” at work. Doesn’t the chambray add so much definition to the look? And no guesses about the pant! 😛 what!?! They are that comfortable ok?
Accessories: gold button sized earrings and white heels.
Psst…this look was a success at work 😀

Look 3 : Denim on denim look

Because I was into sports and dance all my life (barring the last couple of years) I was never the slender legged petite beauty! Hence I’ve always shied away from fitting skirts or dresses. But this denim skirt, a hand me down from my cool aunt, was too inviting to pass! So I threw caution to the wind and went on with the look anyway 😀
Accessories: Light blue smaller studs and my favorite Nike running shoes. Oh those neon laces! ❤

Life through the lens – Challenge, Accepted!

So my favorite blogger Diana from mommy * 4 boys has started a drawing challenge series just for the fun and love of it. And I thought why not and decided to give it a shot!
The theme was fear. We had to either pick out a picture we have taken or create a drawing and show what we felt best depicted fear. I chose to draw because I can’t click posed photos (er…hands on flash? Check, hands on lens? Check) leave alone candid shots!
I’m really excited about this challenge and I kept it simple because this is the first time I’m pencil sketching.

I’m still neck deep in work and yet I’m unable to resist the urge for a quick post.
So, India celebrates its 68th year of independence on 15th August this year which is tomorrow. This day being a national holiday, all the celebration at work happened today. We were asked to dress up in any attire which best represented our country. And yours truly with her extremely limited out of the box thinking decided to become the Indian flag!!! Haha!!! Photos are in order ofcourse!

I don’t know what I’m so elated about. Just the thought of turning up in my nation’s tricolor I suppose 😀

So I was tingling with creativity because I saw this lovely video by heathers hobby and I couldn’t resist trying it out. And so I did. And so this post. And so some pictures!!! 😀

I thought silhouettes look better afar than close up and hence the various proximities. I was particular about trying this technique of color blending and gradual movements from one light color (yellow) to a darker color (red) and I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. That said, I’m always satisfied with what I do 😛 so it is for others to tell me how it looks 🙂
A Tuesday well spent relaxing and painting at home. Oh yes. Hope you guys had a hard and tough day at work. Bwahaha! >:D

I am indeed honored and so kicked about the fact that three pretty ladies have nominated me for this award. A big shout out to Shauna Swartz of All things recessionista, I think you have an amazing sense of style and I love how you make no bones about loving and adoring your husband and family. Next thank you to the pretty Nessa of That chic fashion blog! I love your detailed style of analyzing fashion related topics and it shows the research gone into each post and your love for writing. And when I was in the process of drafting this post a third nomination came from hidden harmony world and thank you so much for that. It makes me feel so special 🙂

Since I have been nominated by three people, I have nearly 30 questions to choose from 😛 So without boring you guys with answers to all those questions I choose my favorite questions and answer them 😀

Here we go!

1. How long have you been blogging?

While I have been reading some blogs for a long time now, it took me courage and a lot of self motivation to start a blog of my own in June. So that 2 months ago. (Actually, exactly 2 months since I started on 10th July 2014) Ha!

2. What is the most important thing that you want people to take away from your blog?

I am basically a Chartered Accountant and I started blogging because I wanted to speak to like minded people about fashion and that’s NOT possible especially in my nerdy field of work 😛 So, I would like it for people to like what I write and how I go about writing fashion related posts and also, I would love it if people took back some inspiration to start writing, or doing whatever it is they have been wanting to do but have been putting off just because of their own apprehensions.

3. What is your favorite accessory?

Ha! Nice one 😀 But I can really not be partial to one accessory as such. So Im going to say it depends on each attire and my mood. But I think I can more or less narrow my favorites to statement necklaces and nice heels.

4. Describe your style in three words.

Comfortable, Colorful, Confident (I swear I dint do that C-C-C thing on purpose. 😛 )

5. What is a trend you are loving right now?

Two trends actually! Crossbody purses or messenger bags and neon.!

6. What is you’re everyday makeup look?

I must state, as much as I love clothes, footwear and accessories, I’m a big zero in the make up field. Also, i feel confident only when I have the bare minimum make up on. And that would be eye-liner and kajal (kohl).

7. What is you’re dream career?

Again, its a plural. Careers! Interior designing, events management and fashion designing. Simply put, I think I would do well in the creative field. Er..and yes here I am being a Chartered Accountant. Ya whatever, next question. (For the record, I love my job! 😛 )

8. What is you’re preferred way to style you’re hair?

Another nice question 😀 This hair department, I have a weakness for. I have silky flyaway type of hair and so I seldom leave it lose. However, I love experimenting new styles and my most preferred style is wearing it into a ponytail or plaiting it up. Effective way to get it out of my face!

9. Do you usually focus on your eyes, or you’re lips when applying makeup?

Eyes. Eyes, only eyes. Lips? who lips? what lips? 😛

10. Which camera do you use for blog photography?

Yes. Now is the time to clarify that bit. My blog is full of tacky sad photos because I make my sister click pictures after I come home using my phone. :/ er..yes. Thats that! I cant help it!

11. Most unforgettable beauty or makeup experience?

Its actually the lack of it! I once read a post on some blog as to how make up is like covering your true self, etc and got so inspired by it that I went make up free to office that day. To get two things clarified, 1. By make up, I of course mean only eye liner and Kohl and 2. I have really large, slightly droopy eyes. So the whole day went by with people asking me if I was sick, to which I might or might not have lied saying yes and my manager might or might not have asked me to leave early to take rest and recoup *evil and creepy grin*

12. Place you had best coffee ever?

Haha…knowingly or unknowingly this is a very easy question for me because Indians are known to grow and make the best coffees in the world (after Brazil of course I guess) and all moms and grand moms in the house are pros at making coffee. So the coffee at home is the best coffee I’ve had. 😀

13. Bargain Shopper or Brand Hunter?

A bit of both. Aren’t we all? 🙂

14. Who do you prefer? Rugged men with no/minimal skincare regime or men who use cleanser, moisturizer and eye cream?

Thats a no brainer right there. Woohoo rugged men, who give a damn about skin care, about dressing sense and about their appearance as such seem to intrigue and attract ❤ !

Haha.. Me and my essay-ish titles! Well that’s that and now coming to the topic. Let me tell you guys something. In my country, India, people don’t show leg. No. Not many of them and not often. I don’t know why. That’s mainly why in all my post (well most of them at least) I’m in jeans or tights. But sometimes when you are going to some places you are quite confident you can pull off some leg showing without raising eyebrows and I was headed to one such place today and I thought why not? 😉
So…here I am…feeling skittish in a skirt. Wait now that would have made a better title wouldn’t it have? “Feeling skittish in skirt” Never mind. I’m going to let that be!

I had a really old extremely comfortable cotton dark cocoa brown skirt which I decided to pair with a light brown sheer top. Its a long tunic and hence I decided to tuck it into my skirt to get some shape. 

I’m so excited about being able to incorporate a pop of pink throughout the look with my belt, my cross body bag and my shoes (the ones which featured for the first time in my previous post and was a smashing hit and made me feel like a boss and…never mind, I’ll brag some other time)

However, since my sister just didn’t agree with that pink popping in random places, I also tried another look. Mellowed the whole appearance down. Check it out.

The nude pumps and belt just made the whole outfit look different right?
Guess which look I went for? Wicket!! The first one of course.! Duh who doesn’t want a random color popping in the oddest places throughout their otherwise sane pairing of light and dark brown? 😛 Right?

Anyway, I have saved the best for the last because that’s what I do best. My idea of suspense and all. Guess who recently grumbled about lusting for gold watches? Me! Guess who bought a stunning gold watch at-long-last? Ba-dum-tssss yeah baby I did!!

All white everything! And then a PoP!

Hi y’all!! Really excited about this post because of what is in store 🙂
So, my Monday would have been the usual uneventful one if not for a parcel which came on Sunday which I released on Monday. The suspense killing you? I would like to think so! They were new shoes people!!! Yayyy.

I ordered shoes online for the first time and boy am I a happy-puppy 😛 . I have been avoiding purchasing shoes online forever because I was so apprehensive about size and comfort. But a friend assured me that online stores are really cool with trial and error and exchange. Also, I’m off-late realizing that you just dont get the variety in terms of patterns, colors and brands in physical stores as you do online. So this time, I just went for it. B-) It is just a case of following the instructions about how to measure your feet correctly and decide your size. I found really useful instructions here .
The most important tip to keep in mind is to measure both your feet because I found my left foot to be significantly bigger than my right.
Anyway. Let me talk no more 😉 Leaving you with the image of muh killer pumps yo! 😛 LoL!!!

I loved the way this neon polka dots on these pumps added that bright of pop of color to otherwise all-white attire.
I also wore a pair of the same shade of earrings to ensure that the color wasn’t totally irrelevant to what I wore. These are the same earrings I wore for this post !

Golden Times Ahead!

One segment I started enthusiastically, but is now dying a slow death is my wants-and-want nots segment. And I thought that was one sustainable segment because of all that million things I’ve wished I have. XD . So does that make me a content and happy person who doesn’t want much? Yes I would certainly like to think so 😉 But now the need to update this segment has really come because my desire to get this product has been there for too long, too strong. 😛 What are they? *Gold watches*

Yes. I can’t but turn into that heart-eyed whatsapp smiley after seeing these watches. They are elegant, funky and versatile all at the same time. They have the capability of being the main piece of the look you are sporting. I simply adore them but I am just not finding the time to go to some store and buy them and a bit apprehensive about buying them online.
The watches I’m particularly having my eye on include this one , this one and this one !
Gosh I would have stalked these watches more than celebrities getting stalked and I dont know what is stopping me from actually buying one of these beauties. Soon my friends. Very soon. 🙂
