October for all Indians means only one thing! The most vibrant Quarter of the year is here! Every year I remember as a kid, the whole atmosphere at home and at school used to undergo a shift when October sets in and I realize the same excitement has transcended well into adulthood as well!
Hailing from a city called Palakkad which lies almost on the line dividing Tamil Nadu and Kerala has its own strange perks! We get to celebrate Keralite festivals without looking like a South Indian going on Karva Chauth fasts (er…yes I have some such friends! :P)
My favourite kinda clothes are the ones which resonate Indian but come with a small western twist to them! That’s why Madhu’s Tadka popped from the hundreds of other vendors on Instagram for me!
Hi my lovely readers! Do you remember me ranting on multiple occasions about how a jumpsuit never ever ever fits me perfectly? Well I atlast got my hands on the jumpsuit which was destined to be mine recently and I couldn’t wait to show it to you guys 😍 so here we go!
I styled the jumpsuit with two statement pieces. One of which was this golden messenger bag which I absolutely love! My next style was :
My second statement piece was this absolutely beautiful silk blazer. I loved this look more because it added so much definition to the waistline and gave me some shape 😃

How would you react when someone says we met each other, really liked each other, I asked her out and ever since, we have been dating. You would probably say aww..cute!
Next, what would your reaction be if the person continued the story saying, before we actually got really knowing each other, we separately had a huge crush on each other for ten years but never got the nerve to take it forward but finally we are now together. You would probably be shocked, your awwww might be louder and shriller and you would end it with a multiple U-ed cute.
Now, the person adds : after less than a year of dating, I moved abroad and ever since, (3.5 years to be precise) we are in the happiest long distance relationship. You’d properly gag off the cuteness overload yeah?
That readers is how my boyfriend dramatically explains our love story to everyone. It’s hilarious how he builds up the momentum by strategically telling the story.
But this post is not about that. This post is about him! This post is about what an amazing person he is. This post is about how quirkishly sportive he is (he can break into a random dance in the middle of a crowded as hell mall just to make me laugh). This post is about how genuinely concerned he is about his girlfriend’s watchman’s baby daughter after she underwent a major surgery. This post is about how mad he is about winning, Kobe Bryant, spicy food, Shilpa and rosemilk equally! (See how deftly I added names there? Mine to be specific! Smooth!). This post is about how he thinks respecting parents and all elders is the coolest thing to do. This post is about how he thinks it a personal victory when he didn’t bog down to peer pressure of any sort. This post is about how dedicated he is to his basketball and undergoing a surgery to pursue his sport was nothing but a minor glitch for him. This post is about what a good human being and a friend he is and how he can become best friends with anyone right from rickshaw drivers to his physiotherapists. This post is most importantly about how he is the most important reason why the herculean, dreaded by many long distance relationship has gone on so smoothly and about how he makes the whole wait so effing worth it.
Every time you leave, I give you a parting gift, a scrapbook, a picture, a surprise, something, anything and I know you love your surprises. This time I was wasn’t ready to let you go. So I had planned nothing. And I saw you were sad about that. This post is my little parting gift to you. Know that you are my true hero and an inspiration to me and many more.

Guyssssss!! Aaaaahhhh!! 💟💟💟 picture this : you have a 60 day countdown because you are seeing the love of your life after two frikkin long years, the days are in no hurry (wonder how they act so lazy during countdowns and are so hyperactive when the vacation after the countdown starts :?) and after a tiresome 58 days you are down to 2 days. The last ten days go exceptionally slowly with you checking the date and the time on your computer calendar every five minutes (no I’m not exaggerating guys!). Anyway, I was in the last but one but oneth day of my countdown 😝. It was Friday and after a longgggg day at work I’m walking towards my car in the rather empty parking lot when I suddenly sense a movement behind me and the persons gait is all too familiar but I’m not able to put a finger on who it was..so I do the turn look back, not realizing who it was, so look in front and get sooooo shocked and look back again routine we are all too familiar with! My boyfriend had me surprised shocked blown out of my wits all at the same time by arriving two days before schedule. Yaah yaah HiFi!!! He’s here 😍!!!!

Life is too short. It gets shorter because half the time we live to reach some particular eventful day in the near or distant future willing and praying that the days in between run by in a whirl. In the end, the eventful day/days come and go in a blur, the days leading to it run by blurrier and we move on to wishing for a next day many months/years later to come soon again spending the days in between pretty unhappily.
Phew…did those last couple of lines make sense? 😜 So basically what I’m saying is, we DONT live to appreciate the moment. We live to reach certain points in our life and when we actually reach that point I doubt we atleast take in that moment and feel happy rather than setting our next target hastily.
* Live for the moment. At least try. (Note to myself : DEFINITELY try!!!)
* Do what you love love what you do! Because that’s the only way you will love the present and want to live in it! (so now you know the expansion of my abbreviated title 😜)
* Live to achieve the things you love and you dream of! (Mom wants you to be an engineer and you want to take up arts? Arts it is! Be rebellious! ;))

I have somehow missed both the life through the lens challenges though I have been thinking I read every post of Mommyx4boys (oh…fyi…when I visited her page now for a link back I see a third pending challenge. But that can wait :P)

That’s me holding my Chartered Accountant Membership Certificate on passing the course. You must be wondering why this photo here, it’s because passing the course is a bloody miracle in itself 😀 The pass percentage was a frugal 7% when I gave my exams. 7 of every 100 clear. Miracle or what?!? 🙂

This is a pencil sketch I did for Love. A slightly different interpretation but yes!
Nothing is as genuine as the love dogs show and I think I’ve done a good job bringing out that emotion. I had a rough idea of the kind of picture I wanted to draw and Google threw up this amazing idea 😀 what do you think guys?

So I’m down with the worst bout of flu. I sound as raspy as Darth Vader and look just as atrocious too 😐
Now that you guys know the reason for that lull, let’s move on to the reason I started writing this post.! I have for a few days now been seeing so many bloggers do beautiful things with paint and colours which kind of got me thinking whether I’m capable at all of drawing or painting anything beyond the stick figures, the two hills with a stream flowing in front of them and the sun rising between them and probably the smiley faces I usually do (yes, I can do a fairly decent job of drawing most whatsapp Smileys. Oh yes, I’ve tried 😛 )
So, being very inspired, I started checking out pinterest and the internet in general for easy painting DIYs and came by a rather simple design, went to the stationary store opposite my house and bought all the colors, canvas and brushes with much gusto and sat to paint what I thought would be a debacle!
With so much negativity at the very beginning, the only way you can go is up and up is where i went because at the end of a good one and half hours, I thought I did a pretty darn good job of the whole painting. Attaching the picture of the completed painting. Please tell me what you think 🙂
P.S. : I’m not attaching a picture of the original painting I saw on pinterest for a reason 😛 haha!

Vacation + birthday + weekend now that’s a win-win situation (actually a win-win-win situation .. Ha ha)
So had an amazing birthday put together by my friends in Chennai and family here in Mumbai. Both of them had arranged for a cake each (one death by chocolate cake and one cadbury dairymilk silk cake to be specific 
) The cake cutting was followed by a surprise lunch get together oraganised by the mommy and my aunt. I was so excited I looked like The Joker (a maniacal smile stuck to my face) thanks to which I was quite a sight in all the photos 
… Hey in my defense, it was my first surprise party okayyy!! 😀
Whoever said “You dont choose your family, they are god’s gift to you” also said “you dont get to choose your relatives, that’s why god created friends” 😀 and I sure seem to have the best of both worlds dont you think? 🙂
