Strutting in Stripes!

“Wow you look like a flashy prisoner”,was the first reaction from the boyzz at work this Friday. Them and their fashion unfriendly comments. 😜😒

I’ve always been in awe and have been wanting to recreate the black and white stripes with a pop of red combination which is all over pinterest. A sample if you please!

So, recently when I bought a striped top, I knew instantly what my look #1 with it would be! With red pants of course. So I dusted my red pants and boy did it pair beautifully well with my striped top! 😍

I bought this top at Promod and the red pants I’ve had for a while which I bought from an Indian store ironically called Westside!
I paired this outfit with red plain earrings and white pumps to give it the contrast.

Though this was the look that instantly came to my mind I intend to experiment with this blouse with atleast two to three other colors and outfits. Maybe a bright pink tulle skirt? Maybe neon pencil skirt? Maybe a light blue Midi? I dont know! But I will figure it out soon. Please help me if you guys think the top will look great with some particular outfit or color! Please? 😍:)

Oh! And meanwhile! Here is my illustrious take on this beautiful combination

I drew it myself. Hence the amateurish feel to the whole picture.!
I do stuff better when I have to just copy them! Like this one below!

Dear Pinterest! I’ll love you for life and a day more 😘😂 Hahaha! Do tell me what you thought about this post! Have a beautiful Sunday! 💞

Some Statements here n there!

I, at long last, caved into this statement jewelry craze and bought two necklaces recently. Tada! Exhibit A

image

I wanted this necklace to really be the hero of the look today and hence decided to underplay the rest of my look. (To the extent that some people thought I forgot a jacket or some/any other dress completer back home 😂 Relax y’all her highness is not always strutting around looking like she has on her an entire shop. It’s called S-T-R-A-T-E-G-Y. 😜)
So…this is how I looked. Brace yourselves.

Yes I wore a white T-shirt blue jeans and white pumps and FYI all you enquirers about my dull outfit, the necklace WAS THE WINNER. Ha! 😜🙌

Anyway, moving on, to other random and just as useless things, I saw this picture recently and I loved it so much that I have been wanting to share it here for y’all to have a good laugh about and nod your heads vigorously in assent

That thing takes so long to nail perfectly it’s not even funny! 😒

Moving on one last time to my last bit of interesting news, I have started running 😍 I love running and I’ve been trying to track a very active running club in my city for a while now. I recently got hold of their number through a mutual friend and have started running with them. One word to describe it, EXHILARATING. ENERGIZING. EXUBERANT.. oh did i use more than one word? Hell yeah, that’s because I’m that excited about this thing. I ran 5.7kms on day one. Hopefully I better my performance tomorrow.

Goodnight (or good morning) and happy weekend! 😍

Six yards of love!

I present to you all the Indian tradional attire – The Saree. Six yards of fabric, one fabulous look 🙂
The typical Indian girl starts wearing a saree in her late teens and as she ages the saree becomes a wardrobe staple. Traditional or not, I’m of the opinion that the saree is the perfect cloth for a woman of any body shape or size simply because it so beautifully lends itself to any type of styling and it can be tied and worn in a completely sensuous way such as these actresses :

Or in simple modest ways like me 😛

image

Material: A saree can be made of pretty much any material with their prices varying with it. Right from silk to jute to fruit fibers (I once gifted my mom a banana fiber saree, it looked gorgeous btw 😛 ) the variety is abundant. That being said, we often stick to silk for occasions due to its grandeur.

That would be me in a silk saree for a wedding

Parts of a saree: A saree is worn with a blouse which covers the torso. It is wrapped around the waist and tucked into an body hugging skirt. While the lower half of the saree is called the pleats, the portion which comes above the blouse is known as the pallu or the pallav. Funnily, the pallu is, in most cases pleated and pinned up too.

That would be me with my sister and granddad at my cousin’s wedding 🙂

While I ve described how a saree would look when tied in a prim and proper sort of way, I’ve at times experimented quite a bit, be it by stitching fun blouses or by going all out and decking myself up in a very 70s heroine sort of way.
I’ll leave you with a few images of some of my other looks in sarees. 😀

By now you might have gotten a drift of my mad love for this attire. Before you get bored let me stop.! 😛
What did you think about this attire? Liked it? Do tell me 🙂

I spy!

I see an increasing trend in India and I dont like it. :/ transparent bags!
Its probably already hit the USA and slowly making its way to my country but its time for me to run the other way because those bags are so not my type. 😐 A definite member of my want-not list!

image

Do people always carry around stuff they dont mind showing off to the world in their bags? I have anything ranging from socks to sanitary napkins floating around in my bag 😛 . Besides, these transparent bags definitely are a strict no for clumsy folks like me who give a damn about  compartmentalizing or clearing their bags every once in a while 😛

Do any of you have these bags? Are you comfortable with them? Do tell me! 🙂
