Onam Special Ft. Mahatriya

Hailing from a city called Palakkad which lies almost on the line dividing Tamil Nadu and Kerala has its own strange perks! We get to celebrate Keralite festivals without looking like a South Indian going on Karva Chauth fasts (er…yes I have some such friends! :P)

Let’s Agree to Filigree

I’ve always loved my jewelry and the more intricate they are, the prettier they look and the more imaginery points they score from me…pfft who wouldn’t want to earn my imaginery points right? 😒😜
While my mom has a lot of pure gold jewelry with intricate filigree work, (er..ya we Indians kinda stock up on gold. We are fanatic gold-hoarders) I can’t possibly show that over the world wide web to you, so I decided to show you guys a couple of my recent and favorite artificial filigree jewelry acquisitions!

1. A peter pan collar chain

image

I bought this beauty recently at an Indian store called Globus! The work on it was so delicate and precise with a roses and pearl that it was love at first sight for me! A close up if you must!

image

Is that beautiful or what? 😎

2. Filigree Earrings
Moving on, this next piece of jewelry was a gift and again the filirgree work makes it look so dressy that I reserve it for occasions. Since I had to show you guys how it looks however, I wore it one day to work. (Sigh! Things I do for you guys! 😍😝)

These earrings have the knack of converting boring and whatever to classy and….not-so-whatever (what I couldn’t think of adjectives ok? 😂)
A closer look once again!

They said keep your friends close and your enemies closer. I add, keep people who gift you beautiful filigree jewelry closest! 😝😂
Have a lovely week people! Stay happy and safe!

Sisters Night Out!

Seeing the title, don’t get your hopes high. We are the most boring pair of sisters whose idea of crazy fun is going to a Vegetarian Italian restaurant in the city. XD FUN FUN FUN!
In our defense, the broccoli cheese ravioli and the pan fried mushroom starters there are to die for. So..yes. FUN FUN FUN!
It has been a while since I shopped so basically these days I’m digging into my closet and picking out long-forgotten pieces and trying to pair them right and make an outfit out of them.
So, in one such dig, I found these pair of bright (almost neon-y) peach crop pants. These were an impulse buy back in 2012 when color pants were ruling the roost and I have worn them exactly once (the day after I bought them to be precise). Guilt and the prospect of a new blog post made me try on these pants recently, and they fit just fine. However the color was an issue because as much as I love bright colors this was a bit too in-your-face bright for me, so I sobered it down with a plain black T-shirt. I must say this plain black Tee has become such a wardrobe staple for me. I should probably think of buying them in more shades because they go so well with pants and skirts! 🙂
Coming back, the black T-shirt did a good job of slightly toning down the peach pants and I was good to go! 🙂

I completed this look with this mad owl chain which I bought off the streets of Bombay look ago, a cross body bag which was almost the same shade as my pants (for some reason the color seems so different in photos) and my orange and green peeptoes 🙂

Normally this is where my post would have ended. However yesterday my sister asked me if she could share blog space with me and I was like HellYa!! :* ❤
My sister is five years younger than me. She is pursuing her mechanical engineering undergraduate degree in a college in my city. Just when I think her sense of style is too easy and laid back she churns out outfits which look so comfortable and yet so chic 🙂
So this was what she wore last night!

She wore a midnight blue with white stars blouse and paired it with these new formal tights she bought recently. They look very cool with gold zippers at the thighs and ankle. She shares shoe sizes with me so she wore one of my black heels to complete the look. Cute no? 😉

Well that brings me to the end of my post. Do tell me your thoughts on both the outfit. Have a happy lazy Sunday 🙂

Bring on the bling :D

After a long vacation from work and a brief hiatus from blogging I’m back with my next fashion staple – “the gold chain”. I recently got this beautiful link gold chain from the US as a gift and it has quickly escalated to being very important person of my wardrobe. 😀
I am finding ways to wear it with any type of clothing. So much so that in my limited number of posts here it has already appeared twice 😛 . (See here and here)
It goes really well with formals

(That happened to be my OOTD too 😀 a vero moda blouse and a Marks and Spencers trousers 🙂 )
I simply loved pairing the chain with a casual top too.

And of course it goes pretty well with dresses as shown in my previous post.
One tip while selecting these chains is to ensure you know exactly the length you require them to be based on the usual depth of your neckline. Also, most chains come with adjustable lengths. So make sure you buy ones where such adjustments are possible.
Do you guys have such accessories which you pair madly with any type of dress? Do tell me 😀

The one oh-i-cant-pull-it-off dress!

Don’t we all have that one dress which we buy with much gusto but never get the nerve to wear? Well this is that dress for me 😛 but I mustered up the courage to wear it in my vacation when we going to a high end mall. 😀

image

It is patterned like a skirt and blouse but it is actually a dress (or a frock as the pretty
fashionhuntress would call it 😀 ) It has blue and yellow aztec printed top and thin denim textured bottom. I decided to pair it with a gold linked chain and nude platform footwear. I tied my hair up into a french plait (yus I have a cool sister who can do cool updos with my nonexistent hair B-) )

How do you think I’ve pulled off my oh-i-cant-pull-it-off dress? Let me know 🙂

P.S. please don’t be harsh 😛
